Deborah Bailey Browne,
CPA MBA
MANAGING PARTNER
Deborah Bailey Browne is President of Bailey Browne CPA & Associates
with an office in Poughkeepsie, NY. She very much enjoys the certified
public accounting and consulting role she is able to provide to the Firm’s
nonprofit, employee benefit, for profit and overall general accounting,
auditing and tax consulting practice.
She received a Masters in Business Administration degree from
Fordham University and a Bachelors of Business Administration from Pace
University with Beta Gamma Sigma and Summa Cum Laude honors. Deborah is a
Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in New York State. In
addition, Ms. Bailey Browne has been awarded a Certificate of Merit for
Distinguished Services, which are subject to notice in "The World of
Who’s How of Women."
Deborah has a very diverse accounting and consulting background
that makes her very well rounded and experienced.
She previously worked for one of the largest public accounting
firms in the Mid Hudson valley as a Partner-in-Charge of Auditing, Quality
Control, Marketing and Practice Development. During her period with this
Firm, she graduated from a Nationally Recognized Sales and Marketing
Program with honors.
Prior to joining the Mid Hudson Valley Firm, she was very
proud to be part of one of the four largest public accounting firms in the
world, as an Accounting & Auditing Manager for the “Big 4” Firm,
Deloitte & Touche, LLP in their National Office in Wilton, C.T. She was
a Manager responsible for financial reporting, management and consulting,
in addition, to having human resource responsibilities.
In addition to her public accounting experience, she has also
gained some private industry experience by working for an international
company, Cadbury Schweppes Europe located in Stamford, C.T. This experience
has provided her with global views of the business economy. Her role with
Cadbury has given Deborah the opportunity to travel both domestically and
internationally which has helped her not only expand her horizons, but
understand diversity and multi-cultures. She was responsible for financial
reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, long range planning and strategic
planning.
She began her career with Price Waterhouse where she served
both public and nonpublic companies in the accounting and auditing
division. Her role exposed her to clients in varied industries, which has
assisted in developing a wide range of technical and interpersonal skills.
Deborah enjoys the performing arts, designing, continuous
learning and movies. In fact, one of her favorite movies is the
"Wizard of Oz". As a result, she very much relates to the
business quote that refers to the “Yellow Brick Road to Success”. Deborah
partners with her clients to develop a yellow brick road to success for
their organization; in addition, she works with her clients to take
advantage of the benefits of the end of every rainbow.
She is on a prior Board of Directors and President of the Mid
Hudson Chapter of the NY State Society of CPAs. She is serving on the
State-wide NYSSCPAs board. She was on the Board of Directors of the
Poughkeepsie Area Chamber of Commerce where she served a Past Chairman of
the Board. In addition, she was on the Board of Directors of the Dutchess
County Arts Council where she served as Chairman of the Board. She
currently serves on the Dutchess County Tobacco Securitization Board of
Trustees.
In addition, Deborah graduated from the Greater Southern
Dutchess Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Dutchess Program and taught
Junior Achievement for their Southern Dutchess Leadership Program. Deborah
is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and
an associate member of the Certified Fraud Examiners where she attended a
National Symposium on Fraud and Forensic Accounting.
Robert A. Pryba, Jr., CPA
PARTNER
Robert A. Pryba, Jr.,
CPA is the Tax Director for Bailey Browne CPA & Associates. He serves a wide range of clients
consisting of closely held private companies and family businesses,
professional service firms and not-for-profit organizations. His practice concentrates on developing
proactive strategies to avoid common business pitfalls, maximize business
value and create strategies for growth and profits to meet or exceed
business plan expectations.
A member of the
American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and New York
State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), Mr. Pryba
currently serves on the Board of Directors of the NYSSCPA’s and is a member
of its Governance Subcommittee. In
addition, he is a member of the NYSSCPA’s Membership Committee. Mr. Pryba
is on the NYSSCPA’s Northeast Chapter’s Board of Director’s and the
Cooperation with Educators Committee.
Prior committee service includes the society’s Banking and
Accounting and Auditing Procedures committees and the chapter’s Nominating,
Auditing Standards and Procedures and Taxation committees.
Mr. Pryba has
served on the faculty of Siena College and the American Institute of
Banking as a lecturer in accounting and taxation and has been a frequent
speaker on various tax, accounting and business topics. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in
accounting from the University at Albany, State University of New
York. In addition to his
professional activities he has severed on various community based boards
and committees throughout his career.
An avid sailor and club racer he is currently the Treasurer and a
member of the Board of Directors of the Mayfield Yacht Club, Inc. and has
prior service on its audit committee.
